Regent Sugiri Sancoko UMPO Is Not Only Muhammadiyah s But Ponorogo s Pride

UMPO.AC.ID – The graduation ceremony of Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo (UMPO), held at the Expotorium UMPO on Saturday (October 25, 2025), was attended by the Regent of Ponorogo, H. Sugiri Sancoko, S.E., M.M. His presence represented the local government’s support for the development of higher education in Ponorogo.

In his speech, Regent Sugiri expressed his pride in UMPO for consistently producing high-quality graduates who are ready to contribute to society. He likened the knowledge gained by the graduates to a light that will illuminate and benefit the people of Ponorogo.

“The knowledge gained from UMPO is like a torch that will enlighten the extraordinary people of Ponorogo,” he stated.

The Regent also shared his admiration and pride for UMPO, mentioning plans for the university to eventually open a medical faculty in Ponorogo. According to him, UMPO does not belong solely to Muhammadiyah—it is a source of pride for Ponorogo, for Indonesia, and even for the world.

Through the local government’s presence at the graduation ceremony, it is hoped that synergy between UMPO and the regional government will continue to strengthen for the advancement of education in Ponorogo.
