End of Year Gift 2025 UMPO Achieves Excellent Accreditation and 10 Excellent Study Programs

UMPO.AC.ID – Closing the chapter of 2025, Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo (UMPO) presents a special “gift” to the public and the entire academic community. Under the leadership of Rector Dr. Rido Kurnianto, M.Ag., UMPO has officially affirmed its position as one of Indonesia’s leading universities by earning Excellent (Unggul) Institutional Accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT).

This achievement marks the culmination of long-standing dedication to maintaining high standards of academic governance and the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. Beyond the institutional level, the accomplishment is further strengthened by 10 study programs that have also attained Excellent Accreditation, demonstrating that UMPO’s quality standards are consistently upheld across disciplines.

Dominance in Research and Innovation

In his reflective address, Dr. Rido Kurnianto stated that 2025 was a year of productivity for UMPO. This was evidenced by UMPO’s successful placement in the Main Cluster (Klaster Utama) of national higher education institutions.

“This achievement is an indicator that our research and community service performance is becoming increasingly relevant, productive, and impactful for society,” said Dr. Rido.

Data show a significant increase in research grants and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) throughout 2025, including:

• 10 RisetMu Research Grants and 7 Community Service Proposal Grants
• Funding trust through the BIMA scheme of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology
• Output achievements consisting of 15 Simple Patents, 357 Copyrights, 20 Books, 8 Scientific Articles, and 1 Industrial Design

Towards a World-Class University

The Rector emphasized that these achievements are inseparable from the strengthening of the internal quality assurance system and massive digital transformation. UMPO continues to encourage students to become knowledge agents in the global era by expanding cooperation networks at both national and international levels.

“This achievement is the result of commitment, collaboration, and a spirit of progress. I extend my highest appreciation to lecturers, education staff, students, alumni, and partners who have struggled together,” he added.

Closing the year with gratitude, UMPO is preparing to welcome 2026 with renewed optimism. The main focus moving forward is to continuously strengthen its identity as an excellent institution and to contribute more broadly to national development.
