UMPO.AC.ID – The 59th Graduation Ceremony of Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo (UMPO), held at the UMPO Expotorium on Saturday (25/10), was filled with touching moments as graduate representative Yoefa Malika shared her reflections and message in front of the academic community and parents.
Yoefa emphasized that the journey through higher education at UMPO is not only about classroom learning but also about personal growth, adaptation, and mutual respect. “Many experiences have shaped us into different individuals from when we first became students. Each of us has extraordinary potential,” she said.
She then expressed her heartfelt gratitude to parents for their constant prayers and love. Yoefa invited all graduates to shout together, “Mom, Dad, we did it!”, which was answered by the parents with “We are proud of you, dear!” The hall immediately filled with tears of joy and pride.
“We don’t need grand gifts to feel appreciated. A small word, a sign of pride, a simple act of acknowledgment can mean everything. Eyes never lie—pride, emotion, and love shining through are enough to fill our hearts,” she added.
Yoefa also thanked the lecturers and mentors who guided them throughout their academic journey. She reminded graduates to appreciate themselves for enduring doubt and fear.
“Like seeds growing amid the storm, we continue striving toward the light,” she said.
Closing her speech, Yoefa sang a fragment of “Manusia Kuat” by Tulus, a song symbolizing their perseverance and determination as they completed their studies and prepared to step into a new chapter of life.
