UMPO.AC.ID – Amid the swift currents of global change, teachers remain an irreplaceable source of light. On the meaningful occasion of National Teacher’s Day 2025, the Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education at Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo (FKIP UMPO), Dr. Sutrisno, S.Pd., M.Pd., delivered heartfelt appreciation along with an inspiring call to educators across Indonesia. He emphasized that National Teacher’s Day is not merely a celebration, but a moment to reaffirm the identity and strategic role of teachers as builders of the nation’s future.
“Today is not just a commemoration, but a moment of reflection and commitment to becoming progressive, impactful teachers who build the future of this nation,” he stated.
Dr. Sutrisno underscored that teachers in the 21st century must position themselves as drivers of transformation, not merely transmitters of knowledge. He stressed that digital technology should not be viewed as a simple tool, but as a resource—saints—that expands creativity, inclusivity, and the depth of learning experiences.
At the same time, he reminded educators of the importance of staying rooted in the nation’s core values. Religious devotion, humanity, mutual cooperation, justice, and tolerance must continue to flow within every educational process. Integrating these values, he said, will shape a generation that is not only intellectually capable but also morally grounded and deeply connected to their homeland.
“With these values, we are not only educating children but also cultivating a generation with character and integrity,” he affirmed.
He also extended his respect to all teachers who tirelessly spread inspiration and encouragement.
“Remain role models, sources of inspiration, and carriers of enthusiasm. The small acts you do today are the foundation of Indonesia’s future,” he concluded with hope.
