UMPO.AC.ID - The Public Relations Forum of Muhammadiyah-Aisyiyah Higher Education Institutions (Forum Humas Perguruan Tinggi Muhammadiyah Aisyiyah / PTMA) held a joint prayer session as a form of care and solidarity for the victims of the floods that hit several regions in Sumatra. This humanitarian activity was held in Yogyakarta and was attended by public relations representatives from various PTMAs across Indonesia, including from the Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo (UMPO).
The Chairman of the PTMA Public Relations Forum, Ariadi Nugraha, S.Pd., M.Pd., expressed his deepest condolences for the disaster. He affirmed that the entire PTMA extended family, which includes UMPO, shares the grief and sorrow of the victims.
"On behalf of the PTMA Public Relations Forum, we convey our deepest condolences to our brothers and sisters affected by the floods in Sumatra. This disaster serves as a reminder for all of us to strengthen each other and cultivate solidarity. May the victims be granted patience, safety, and the strength to recover," he stated.
Ariadi added that, in addition to the joint prayer, the PTMA Public Relations Forum also encourages all Muhammadiyah-Aisyiyah campuses to initiate humanitarian actions, either through fundraising or logistics assistance. With the active participation of all PTMAs like UMPO, this synergy is expected to ease the burden on affected residents.
"We hope that the synergy built by PTMA can alleviate the burden on the affected residents," he added.
The PTMA Public Relations Forum asserted that moral support and tangible action from educational institutions are essential in aiding community recovery. They hope that the situation in the affected areas will soon improve and that residents' activities will return to normal.
