UMPO.AC.ID – The Secretariat Office of Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo (UMPO) conducted a benchmarking visit to Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) on Friday (17/10), held at the UMY Rector’s Meeting Room.
This visit aimed to strengthen collaboration among Muhammadiyah and ‘Aisyiyah Higher Education Institutions (PTMA) while following up on the directives of the UMPO Board of Trustees (BPH), who also serve as UMY leaders — Prof. Achmad Nurmandi, M.Sc., Rector of UMY, and Ir. Slamet Riyadi, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., Vice Rector for Quality and Global Reputation. Both have played key roles in guiding UMPO toward achieving its “Unggul” (Excellent) accreditation status.
Head of the UMPO Secretariat Office, Susana Natalia, S.E., explained that the visit focused on learning about the protocol system and administrative management implemented at UMY.
“We learned a lot about protocol arrangements, especially as we will soon hold a professorial inauguration ceremony. We wanted to understand the procedures and standards applied at UMY,” Susana said.
During the visit, UMPO also studied UMY’s official correspondence and archiving system through a presentation delivered by the Bureau of Legal and Compliance. On this occasion, UMPO also shared its own guidelines on official correspondence, creating a meaningful exchange of knowledge and best practices between the two institutions.
Susana noted that the hands-on experience at UMY provided valuable insights for improving UMPO’s management systems.
“Learning directly from UMY gave us a clearer perspective. We gained many new insights that will serve as valuable input for enhancing our systems,” she added.
Meanwhile, UMY University Secretary, Dr. Bachtiar Dwi Kurniawan, warmly welcomed the visit and expressed hope that such benchmarking activities could serve as a platform for sharing experiences and strengthening synergy among PTMA across Indonesia.
“Knowledge sharing like this is part of our collective effort to continuously learn together and improve the quality of university governance,” he remarked.
