UMPO.AC.ID - The Pancasila and Civic Education Study Program (PPKn) of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo (UMPO), held a National Seminar alongside the signing of a cooperation agreement with FKIP Universitas Nusantara PGRI Kediri on Monday (February 10). This initiative represents a strategic step in strengthening the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education through collaboration in education, research, and community service.
The cooperation agreement was signed between FKIP UMPO and FKIP Universitas Nusantara PGRI Kediri, followed by further collaboration between the PPKn study programs of both institutions. This partnership is expected to foster sustainable academic synergy and expand scholarly networks between universities.
The national seminar, which formed part of the event series, carried the theme “Transforming Pancasila Education: Strengthening Multicultural Character and Digital Literacy in the Era of Information Disruption.” The seminar featured speakers Dr. Sulton, M.Si., and Wikan Sasmita, M.Pd., who discussed the challenges of civic education amid rapid technological advancements and emphasized the importance of strengthening multicultural character among younger generations.
In addition to the seminar, the program continued with a Community Service (PKM) initiative in Karangpatihan Village, Balong, Ponorogo. The program targeted companions of people with intellectual disabilities, volunteers, and village officials as community partners. Carrying the theme “Inclusive Citizenship Empowerment Model,” the activity aimed to develop social sensitivity, enhance empathy, enrich field experience, and strengthen students’ communication and teamwork skills.
Head of the PPKn Study Program FKIP UMPO, Dr. Ambiro Puji Asmaroini, S.Pd., M.Pd., expressed hope that the Tri Dharma collaboration between FKIP UMPO and FKIP Universitas Nusantara PGRI Kediri would continue sustainably, productively, and mutually strengthen both institutions.
“Through the national seminar and community service activities for companions of people with intellectual disabilities, volunteers, and village officials in Karangpatihan Village, we hope to foster impactful academic collaboration, broaden scholarly networks, and provide inclusive and meaningful social contributions to the community,” she stated.
This activity highlights that students are not only expected to excel academically but also to demonstrate social awareness and create real impact as agents of change within society.
