UMPO.AC.ID - Proud news comes from the Land of the Rising Sun, where Dr. Elok Putri Nimasari, M.Pd., Head of the English Education Study Program at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo (UMPO), successfully recorded a brilliant achievement at The Asian Conference on Education and International Development (ACEID) 2026. In the conference initiated by IAFOR, Dr. Elok did not merely attend as a participant, but held a crucial role as a presenter, senior reviewer, and session chair. Her presence among experts from America, Europe, Asia, and Australia confirms that the intellectual capacity of Indonesian academics is now at the forefront of global educational transformation.
The main spotlight was on the revolutionary research she presented regarding the use of artificial intelligence through the title “Text Mining for Advice Giving in Higher Education.” Dr. Elok developed an innovation based on text mining specifically designed to dissect communication patterns between lecturers and students. Through this technology, interactions in academic supervision—which have often been considered rigid—can be analyzed deeply to determine whether the patterns tend to be authoritative or collaborative. The goal is very clear: to create a thesis supervision atmosphere that is more empathetic, inclusive, and supportive in order to maintain the mental health and well-being of students during their period of study.
This innovation is considered highly relevant to the spirit of the fourth point of the SDGs regarding quality education, where the human side of academic supervision becomes the key to learning success. While leading the discussion as session chair, Dr. Elok ensured that the exchange of ideas among world academics was productive, while simultaneously showing her prowess as a senior reviewer who filters the quality of international scientific works. This active involvement is tangible proof that research from Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo is capable of providing solutions to educational challenges at the world level.
Dr. Elok revealed that this step is a major strategy to bring local research results to the global dissemination stage. Her party holds great hope that the AI-based communication model she developed can soon be widely implemented in various campuses, both domestically and abroad. That way, the academic supervision process in the future will not only pursue the timeliness of graduation, but also create educational practices that are more ethical, effective, and oriented towards the psychological comfort of students in achieving their academic degrees.
