UMPO.AC.ID - The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo (UMPO) celebrated its 39th anniversary on Saturday, June 14. The event carried the theme "Moving Together, Moving Closer: Weaving the Bond of the FKIP Family," as a reflection of strengthening ties among the academic community and commemorating FKIP’s long journey in building professional, Islamic, and globally oriented education.
The series of activities began with a Qur'anic recitation session, serving as a moment of self-reflection and spiritual contemplation. This opening act reminded all participants of the importance of blessings and Islamic values in every step of the educational mission. It also symbolized the reinforcement of spirituality as the foundation for shaping excellent educators.
The celebration continued with a lively and spirited milad ceremony. The event opened with a cheerful health exercise session to foster togetherness, followed by outbound games and a gift exchange involving around 150 participants, including all FKIP student organizations (ORMAWA) and faculty members. The warm and familiar atmosphere made this anniversary celebration a memorable and heartfelt occasion.
During the event, FKIP also recognized outstanding faculty members and students, both in academic and non-academic fields. These awards served as an acknowledgment and encouragement for their dedication and contributions in elevating the faculty’s reputation while motivating others to continue achieving excellence across various disciplines.
In his address, Dr. Sutrisno, M.Pd., Dean of FKIP, emphasized that FKIP holds a great aspiration to become a progressive faculty, producing professional educators grounded in Islamic values and capable of competing at both national and global levels. This spirit aligns with FKIP’s vision to be a professional, Islamic, and globally recognized faculty that collectively advances towards the noble goals of education.
FKIP also reaffirmed its commitment to continuously improve the quality of human resources, both for faculty members and students. Full support will be provided to encourage lecturers to pursue the highest academic degrees and to open wide opportunities for students to continue their studies to higher levels. Additionally, FKIP has recently established the Teacher Professional Education (PPG) Program as a strategic step to strengthen graduates' competencies and ensure they are well-prepared to become competitive and capable educators.
This 39th anniversary celebration is more than just a ceremonial event; it marks an important milestone in continuing the legacy of FKIP’s predecessors. With a spirit of collaboration, unity, and a clear vision, FKIP UMPO is ready to move forward as a high-quality, inclusive faculty rooted in Islamic values, committed to nurturing excellent future educators in the global era.
