UMPO to Establish Research and Conservation Hub for Peacocks After Land Donation

UMPO.AC.ID  -  Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo (UMPO) has received a land grant that is expected to serve as a new starting point in the university’s efforts to advance education, research, and environmental conservation. The handover ceremony was held in a solemn atmosphere and concluded with a collective prayer led by Syafrudin.

This land grant represents the community’s trust in UMPO as a higher education institution that not only focuses on academic development but also demonstrates a strong commitment to environmental issues. In the near future, UMPO plans to utilize the land as a site for research and peacock conservation, while also expanding its environmentally-conscious educational facilities.

UMPO Rector, Dr. Rido Kurniato, M.Ag, who was present at the event, emphasized that the land would be managed responsibly by the university.

"This land will be developed into a Center for Research, Edu-Tourism, and Peacock Conservation,” he said.

The land grant further strengthens UMPO’s strategic role in supporting regional development through an integrative approach that combines academic advancement with environmental stewardship.
