UMPO.AC.ID - Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo (UMPO) continues to demonstrate its commitment to encouraging students to excel at the global level. Two students from the Faculty of Economics will participate in the international event Global and Culture Exposure 2026, which will be held in Penang, Malaysia, from April 15–18, 2026.
This event is an international platform that combines global seminars, community service, and various prestigious competitions involving students from different countries.
One of the participants, Wynne Kurniawan, a student of the Undergraduate Management Program, admitted that she initially did not expect to be selected to represent UMPO in the event.
“At first, I was informed quite suddenly by my study program, and I doubted whether I was capable of representing UMPO. But eventually, I convinced myself to participate, hoping to bring pride to UMPO at the international level,” she said.
In this competition, all participants are required to take part in several categories, including public speaking, photography, content creation, and talent show. Wynne hopes that her participation will not only provide valuable experience but also expand her international network.
“I hope to build new connections since this is an international event, and hopefully, I can bring home an achievement for the university,” she added.
The academic supervisor, Fery Setiawan, S.E., M.M., explained that this event provides an important opportunity for students to experience a global competitive atmosphere while enhancing their skills in various fields.
“This is an international-level competition held in Penang, Malaysia. In addition to international seminars, there are also competitions such as public speaking, photography, content creation, and talent show, all of which are mandatory for participants,” he explained.
He further added that the two selected students come from the D3 Accounting Program and the Undergraduate Management Program. Their participation is expected to provide valuable experience and open opportunities for achievements.
“We hope that the students will gain meaningful experience in global competitions and achieve accomplishments that will benefit themselves, their study programs, the faculty, and of course UMPO,” he stated.
The departure is scheduled for mid-April, with the full series of activities running until April 19, 2026.
Through this participation, UMPO remains optimistic in producing outstanding graduates who are not only competitive at the national level but also capable of excelling on the international stage.
