UMPO.AC.ID - In commemoration of World Mental Health Day, let us all remember that there is no complete health without mental health. Mental health is an inseparable part of overall well-being and is just as important to maintain as physical health.
Afitria Rizkiana, M.Psi., Psychologist and Clinical Psychology Clinic Coordinator at Al Manar Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo (UMPO), invites the community to commit to creating and maintaining a safe, healthy, and supportive environment. She emphasizes the importance of a conducive space where every individual can grow, develop, and feel accepted within society.
Furthermore, Afitria explains that a person with good mental health can be identified by several characteristics. These include having a positive attitude towards oneself, being able to grow and develop emotionally and psychologically, coping with life’s pressures in a healthy way, building good social interactions, and being able to work and contribute meaningfully to their community.
The observance of World Mental Health Day serves as an important reminder for all of us to raise awareness, understanding, and care regarding mental health issues. Especially amid the increasing complexities of life, efforts to create safe spaces, expand access to mental health services, and reduce stigma around mental illness must be a shared priority.
World Mental Health Day is not just a ceremonial observance but a call to action—so that we can build a society that is holistically healthier, mentally stronger, and more caring towards one another.
