UMPO.AC.ID - The rapid growth of digital technology has transformed many aspects of life, including how schools communicate and engage with their communities. Recognizing the importance of adapting to this information era, Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo (UMPO), through the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) and the Communication Science Study Program, initiated a training program titled “Optimizing School Appeal through Creative Visual Content” at SDN 5 Wagirkidul, Pulung District, Ponorogo
The training brought together teachers, staff, and school committee members who enthusiastically learned how to create engaging digital content to promote their school’s activities and achievements. Beyond technical skills, the session also emphasized the importance of building a digital reputation that is authentic, creative, and rooted in strong values.
“Good visuals are not merely about aesthetics—they are about how a school conveys its identity and values to the public,” said Dra. Niken Lestarini, M.Si., Head of the Community Service Team. She explained that the program is an initial step to help primary schools adapt to the growing challenges of digital communication.
One of the speakers, Ayub Dwi Anggoro, S.Ikom., M.Si., Ph.D., highlighted the moral aspect of digital presence. “A school’s digital reputation is its moral face in the virtual world—it reflects how the institution fulfills its educational mission in real life,” he stated.
Representing SDN 5 Wagirkidul, Affien Fitra Prayudi, S.Pd., expressed his gratitude for UMPO’s initiative. “This training has broadened our understanding of digital promotion. We hope for continued mentoring so we can confidently share our school’s creativity and achievements with the public,” he said.
Through this program, UMPO not only shared knowledge but also reaffirmed its commitment to advancing education in local communities. With a spirit of collaboration and service, the university continues to empower schools to be more creative, adaptive, and capable of showcasing their best potential in the digital era.
