UMPO.AC.ID - Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo (UMPO) and the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) held a strategic meeting to discuss the follow-up of the agreed Cooperation Agreement. This meeting is an important step in strengthening collaboration in the fields of research, regional innovation development, and human resource capacity building.
The agenda was attended by Dr. Wawan Kusnawan, M.Pd.I. Head of Cooperation and International Affairs), Dr. Dwi Estiningsih, M.Psi., Psychologist. Head of International Affairs, and Dr. Sugeng Mashudi, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes. Head of Research and Publishing of LPPM. From BRIN, Anugerah Yuka Asmara, S.AP, M.A., Dr. Dhian Kusumawardhani, S.Sos, M.PM, Galih Bramudyas Yogaswara, S.Sos, MPP, and Dr. Danarsiwi Tri Lastiwi, S.S., M.AP, M.Sc were present.
The scope of cooperation discussed includes the implementation of joint research, utilization of resources and facilities, student mentoring, dissemination of research results through seminars and workshops, preparation of policy recommendations, and joint scientific publications. One of the main activities that will soon be implemented is a collaborative research titled Strengthening the Regional Innovation System through Triple Helix Collaboration on Food Sector Small and Medium Industries (SMIs) in Ponorogo Regency. This research targets outputs in the form of scientific publications in Scopus indexed international journals ranked Q2 or Q3.
In addition to research, BRIN also offers an internship program for UMPO students to be directly involved in research activities within BRIN. Students who take part in this program will be mentored by BRIN researchers and receive informal assistance in preparing their thesis, apart from campus supervisors. This internship program is free of charge, but students need to cover accommodation independently while in Jakarta. Interested students can contact the UMPO Office of Cooperation and International Affairs.
This collaboration is expected to have a positive impact on strengthening the research ecosystem in the region and opening up wider learning and self-development opportunities for students and lecturers within UMPO.
