UMPO.AC.ID - Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo (UMPO) once again organized the slaughter of sacrificial animals in commemoration of Eid al-Adha 1446 Hijri. This activity took place on Saturday (7/6) in the courtyard of the UMPO Expotorium, and became an important momentum in fostering the spirit of sharing, the value of social care, and the propagation of Islam in the campus environment and surrounding communities.
A total of 11 cows were sacrificed in this year's event. Nine cows were slaughtered directly on Campus 2 UMPO, while the other two were distributed through the sacrificial program initiated by Lazismu East Java. The slaughtered meat was then distributed to approximately 1,500 beneficiaries, consisting of UMPO employees and lecturers as well as the community around the campus, especially those in need.
"Alhamdulillah, the slaughtering of sacrificial animals at Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo has been carried out well. We pray and put our trust in Allah so that the sacrificial worship of UMPO employees will be blessed and accepted as a good deed. Hopefully, it will bring happiness to the mudhohi (sacrificers), the campus, and the surrounding community," said Bambang Wahrudin, M. Pd.I.
Bambang added, this activity is not only a form of worship, but also a tangible manifestation of Islamic preaching and an effort to build harmonious relations between UMPO and the community.
